1° day of adventskaLeender

Gratitude is a kind of return. A silent walk inward, where simple things gain names and the small lights of day begin to appear. Today, the invitation is gentle: find three reasons for gratitude. Three deep breaths that you transform into words.

It doesn't have to be grand. In fact, it almost never is. Gratitude likes discreet things: the hot coffee keeping the morning chill away, the message that arrived at the exact moment, God's affection hidden in details that only you notice. Gratitude lives in these moments that almost go unnoticed, but which, when embraced, illuminate more than they seem.

Perhaps your reason lies in the rest that finally came, in the laughter of someone in your home, in the strength you found even when tired, or in the silence that brought peace after noisy days. Perhaps it's in something that went right without you expecting it. Or in something that didn't go right—and, looking closely, was protection.

Writing down your three reasons is a spiritual act. You leave the rush and enter the presence. You feel your body lighter, as if your soul is breathing a little better. Gratitude adjusts your focus, and suddenly you realize you're not alone, that God continues to organize your days with a delicacy that sometimes hurts because it's so beautiful.

Today, write. On paper, in a note on your phone, in the inner notes of your heart. Three reasons. Three memories.

And when you finish, stop for a moment. Take a deep breath. Let gratitude settle within you like a hug that arrives slowly but remains.

To give thanks is to open the soul. And every soul that opens finds space for peace to enter.
